New guy here. I recently blued my tomahawk with peroxide/salt and distilld water. Ran it thru the process 4 times, lightly sanded with steel wool, then rubbed with mineral oil. It looks great, but continues to make hands and anything it touches turn black. What do i do to lock in the bluing and keep the black oxide from turing anything it touches black?

Mineral oil will float up any gunk left behind from making the patina and the small abrasive pieces left behind in the pores by the steel wool. Patina is never really locked in, but the hawk will stop blacking things if you rub it out with more mineral oil and rags. Hawks tend to be less finished, so there are more little cracks and grannies for stuff to hide in versus a blade that has been aggressively smoothed. So apply elbow grease, and hope that someone posts an easier idea.
