Beckerhead Knife Making and Modification Thread

Dang.

This will have to do in the meantime:

Vik, the big'n used a 1" hole saw with a 3/4" end cap. Worked ok, but a pain to drill and/or file the end cap.
Medium is a 7/8" hole saw with 3/4" pipe. This was just about ideal.
Small is 3/4" hole saw with 1/2" connector pipe (diameter of end cap). This was a bit loose because the hole saw went wobbly around the pilot. Will have to resolve that. I didn't want a 1/4" pilot so decisions (mistakes?) were made.
I spun the little one by hand against the grinder instead of chucking it into the corded drill.
That's a 6" ruler on the right.

Played with a BK2 today in the shop😁 Took it in for a little weight reduction. I believe I shaved about 2oz off. I removed the hammer pommel, added a high flat grind, fullers, stripped it, and cold blued it. Still a BEAST of a blade but more svelt👍 No real reason to mod other than I could so I did 😎

Made another thing today! A Big Ole Camp style with BK&T scales! I/4in 5160 with a blued finish. 14 1/2in overall with a 9 1/8in blade tip to scales. I’ve drilled out the tang and flat ground the blade with some taper to get the weight to 17oz.

Hey, great minds think alike....

I know Ethan should make This version. It's pretty amazing! A thicker back saves my batton

Put TKC G-10 handles on the BK7. They are Classical Blacktical Tactical. Near good balance on the BK7 with it.
