Black Walnut Burl Blocks

Don, What type of finish do you suggest on bw. I dont care for the oiled look as it seems to hide some of the activity. Tru-oil takes weeks to do right. How about stabilizing or superglue coat/sand/polish?

Bruce, I usually use tung oil but it takes a few days to get several coats.
Thin super glue works very well and can be finish pretty quick.
Minwax wood hardener works very well and dries fast.
Also, a high quality polyurethane works very well.
I have had some stabilize, with excellent results, it does darkens some pieces but not all.

Still have a good bit of walnut.
Here's another set of 4 randomly picked from the stash.
Sanded and oiled.

Don,

The walnut arrived today and all I can say is WOW!!

It's even better then you said. It will make some beautiful knife scales.

Thank You.
