My son gave me some large chunks of compound he used to buff high end kitchen and bathroom counter tops, wondering if anyone has an idea on what it might equate to. It is sort of a light tan color feels very fine but that's hard to judge.

If this compound is being used to put a polish on granite countertops I would expect it to be very fine.
But I am not an expert on installing countertops or much of anything else (just ask the wife).
