hey all,
i picked up a camillus 2 blade #51 Barlow 3 3/8" w/Red/Brown sawcut scales, barlow stamp on the bolsters, long nail pull, blades for the most part looked intact
The tang stamp has 3 lines (all caps)
CAMILLUS (italic with a line underneath)
NEW YORK
USA
Any ideas to how old?(i know this can be difficult, just a general time frame)
i may clean it up to carry not sure yet
when i receive the knife i'll post picts
got my fingers crossed! New to the ebay purchasing and it still makes me a nervous wreck!
as always thanks for any info!
Cheers
ivan

Do you have a picture of the stamping?

I believe Camillus began to use the 3 line (with Camillus completely underlined) in 1960.

Maybe CAMCO or Phil can tighten the time frame if you have a picture.

Whooooops! I see you will post a picture when you get it. Sorry.

No sweat! thanks for the info! and i will certainly post when i get it!
my tiny collection is shaping up to be quite camillus heavy!
thanks

I saw that knife on ebay and it looked pretty sweet. I'm glad we didn't get into a bidding war. If you don't mind, what was the final price?

$15.50 + 2.95 postage
i thought i did pretty good, :D
i'd pay more for anything new thats for sure, and the blades didnt look reprofiled.
as far as ebay goes i'm a newbie, a bidding war would have been very short if it would have involved me:D

Thanks
ivan
