Cast Iron Beckerheads, Sound Off!

My Grandmother is 99 years old from Cheticamp Nova Scotia. She makes a similar meat pie. When I was little she would use rabbit meat my dad shot.

30 years ago when we realized she wasn’t going to be around forever my cousins and aunts got together and worked out all of my Grandmothers recipes and put together a book. It evolved into special recipes from all family members. Its a treasure. Anyway here is my Grandmother’s meat pie recipe.

This is where the magic happens for me. It's scheduled for an appearance this evening - to whip up some spinach, mushrooms and tofu to top off some polenta (which will next have some "Green Dragon Hot Sauce" and Parmigiano Reggiano applied...

Whipped up an omelette in the ol' Griswold #6 yesterday, but didn't take a picture.

Scuttlery Scuttlery that Gris #10 is amazing! I've never had my hands on one that big... so far (and have STOPPED) have #'s 3,6,8,9.

Oh, and a dutch oven or something that still needs to be cleaned, forget the size.

Opinions please: I have a new turkey/ fish fryer burner , I have a 15-16 inch round cast iron griddle will the burner go down low enough to use it as an improvised flat top. The burner i have is on the smaller size for a turkey fryer

I think so, you may need adjust the regulator or to elevate the pan to get it further from the heat. You may have trouble with wind blowing out the small flame.

There are a lot of variables, but I think it’s worth trying.

Quick test it will turn down enough. Having a coworker cut me a piece of sheet metal for a shield for one side . It’s blowing 10-12 miles per hour now . They round griddle I have fits in it perfectly

I use a "fish cooker" with my 10" ci skillet for cooking when camping - no issues once I figured out the flame height.
first time i used it was an adventure that involved the smoke point for bacon grease and a flash fire...

Can't believe I have no pics in this thread.
Time to fix that :)
