Chris Reeve Knives History Timeline To Date & Blade Steel Timeline

Quick question, does the letter/number on the inner slabs of sebenza 21s indicate the date the knife was made/DOB or just the titanium slabs themselves?

The slabs themselves. They can sit, sometimes for months, before being made into a knife.

Probably asking why the scales have a date different than the birthcard of a few years.

I've never see that much difference. My EDC has scales a full year older than the birthcard, that's the biggest difference I've seen.

Why are the blades stamped and what do they mean? Did I miss that or is it the same A-D system?

The blade stamps indicate what steel. No stamp = BG-42 or ATS-34, S = SV30, V = S35VN, C means that it's SV30 on a Classic blade.

My used one has a reissued date of birth, so I was thinking that could be why the 2yr difference

That will show the re-issue date, not the original date. This date could be many years apart.

Sorry Lone Wolfe, I'm not following, not sure what you're trying to say.

Btw, your knife is beautiful.

She is saying that the reissue birthcard won't display the correct date the knife was assembled. It can give an approximation and that's it.
You could have many years between the date on when the knife was assembled and when the reissued card states as the example in the pic she has.
There is a gap of 15 years.

Because, IIRC, the date on a reissued card is the date the card was issued. It has nothing at all to do with when the knife was originally made.

At the risk of being presumptuous, I felt that this list should be part of the CRK history sticky for reference by all. With the help of several of members here as well as Anne Reeve, Sigifrith and I have compiled this list of CRK Annual LE inlays. These have all been either found online by one of us, personally witnessed, or have been verified from documentation provided by CRK (thanks Anne). There may still be gaps in the list, so if anyone reading this has additional information, please contact either Sigifrith or myself.
