Here is what Bernie Levine has written about Coffin (= Crown) knives!!! The names can be used interchangeably!!View attachment 2495449View attachment 2495452View attachment 2495456

And, here is a Large Coffin pen, and a smaller Coffin pen, below!!View attachment 2495458
If possible, would you mind sharing a picture of the āwraparoundā spring on the pen blade for this one? I have heard these have that feature but have never seen a clear picture showing just how prevalent it is.Here's one to help get the party (or, is it a wake? ) started...
Bernie's 4th Edition is full of stuff we all miss!! It should be required reading for all users!!Interesting bit of info, Charlie. I don't recall having read that bit about this pattern.
Thank you! Very cool one.

I see that, while I was taking photos, jmh33 beat me to it -- but, what the heck, here's another perspective! If possible, would you mind sharing a picture of the āwraparoundā spring on the pen blade for this one? Good question!!!??? I think Bernie and I have never seen a single blade, which is more prevalent in Later knife patterns (we are both old) - but I don't see why a single blade couldn't exist!!So, am I to understand, from the Levine excerpt, that if it only has a single blade then it isn't a Coffin Jack?
