Hey Mark,

Took the kiddies to the back yard last night and explained a little about fire-making. I don't ever use paper and matches. I walked them over to some of our birch trees and talked about tinder. Gathered some dead branches that had fallen through the winter for my kindling.

Took out my new compact bushcrafter from you, and that baby THROWS SOME SPARKS on my ferro rod. One strike and it looked like we were cooking with gas.

I really love this knife for bushcrafting type tasks. The handle fits my large hands well and the blade is just right for maximum control. I've been practicing making figure four traps with it a lot.

Pics to follow. But I am really loving this knife.

LiveitLoud,

Was out yesterday afternoon to clear my head. Pulled some bark off my birch tree and one swipe of the compact bushcrafter and a ferro and I had a fire going. I have LARGE hands and you are right, these puppies are very addictive. They give great control and allow me to really grip them for making traps, etc.
