Just got this done for the local bike shop owner. It's 3/16' D-2 copper bolsters & liner, mosaic pins with stabilized walnut slabs.

Good looking knife George! Did you forge the D2? If so, how did it move under the hammer, and what was the lowest temp. would you let the steel drop to before the next heat (or what color range)?

Very nice, George! I love to see folks using copper. Any chance you could show a picture of the copper liners? Great idea!

Very nice George!

That looks like a huge step forward from your last work that I saw (and that was very nice). Up the ladder you go

Nice lines and proportions. It looks like it feels very natural in the hand as well.

Nice scooter, great knives and I suppose you have lobster too? Did you make the pins too? Very nice knife!! Terry

This was done in the stock removal method. I make all my mosaic pins in 1/8" I make them with copper & brass tubing & the 1/4' with brass & SS tubing. I am hoping to get some lobsters and whale bones in this weekend, I have 2 bro's coming in from fishing. I really hope they dragged up some bones.

Hey Indian George, I found a place near me that sells small copper and brass tubing. I Picked some out that would make some cool mosaic pins. I was wondering how it is that you get the epoxy in there. I also was wondering if i should make them in 12" peices or make them closer to the sizes i need at the time? Any hot tips?

Thanks, Chris

This site has a wealth of knowledge. The only other tip I have is to counter sink the ends of the tubing.
D-2 grinding is about as your stainless.
Peter, having some people over on Saturday to discuss Mass. Knife Association, you are welcome to join us.
