I tried the heated cider method mentioned earlier in this thread and used the Mothers mag and aluminun cleaner also mentioned earlier. It worked Awesome!!! I did it to a Cheetlang that I got recently. It is really worth the try. It is nice to actually see the hardened zone appear. Totally Cool!!

Glad it worked out for you. Actually I can't take the credit for the vinegar etch, the late and great Mr. Bob Engnath came up with this to get the temperline to show on the Yakiba blades he would make.
