My dogs seek stardom so much that whenever I try and make a video they always have to get in on it and give me a hard time....today was no different !
I had an idea recently and that was to tape a small PJB to the back of my knife sheath as emergency tinder.
My reasoning for this was that, although unlikely, I could be seperated from the rest of my kit and be left with only my knife on my belt.
Another reason is that it might be raining heavily and I don't wish to open my PSK and risk getting all the contents wet just to get some tinder out.
Sticking it on with Gorilla/Duct tape keeps the tinder dry and is much easier to just rip off and light than having to cut open those tinder straws etc that many people use !
One final thought is that this could also be used as a quick wound dressing !

So here is a quick video of me trying the tinder trick, this was the first time I'd used this ferro-rod with my Mark Wohlwend Mora so took me a couple of strikes to get it right !

I should add that whenever you do stuff like this try and do it near water, clear away other dry material, damp well down after you are finished and always wait 10 minutes or so to make sure the fire doesn't start up again......common sense but always worth reminding !
