Very nice effort Joe!! Looks like a great design and well executed blade, it has kind of an upscale Dozieresque look. How thick did you leave the blade? What kind of sheath did you provide?

Would like to see more of your work, especially some of your Hunters.

The final thickness of the blade is about 1/8". I forge a distal taper to the blade first then a gentle forging where the grind will be. It doesnt take much forging on a blade this thin. Forging also created the gentle upswept tip. The heat treatment was done using a Paragon furnace that also controled the temper. I would say this one is about RC 56/58. I dont like hard blades but I can make them as hard as anyone wants. Here is a couple of pictures of the sheath, simple pouch style. I spent alot of time burnishing the leather. I have forged blades using 1/4 inch stock, I think my favorite is 3/16th for hunters.
