I think I remember hearing they had a lot of problems with the blades warping.
The contemporary Sheffield cutlers are wary of blade stamp for the same reason. I guess, in the past, when blade stamps were common, blades were forged, but I have seen plenty of stamps applied to stock removal blades, without warping :thumbsup:
