Help: Info about my MADD MAXX IV 4" TRITIUM DLC #08 assisted opening

On the same side as where clip stands, but on the opposite end of the handle, there is a screwed metal piece with "Lock/Stop" written.
I cannot describe it better than this.
What is it? How can I make use of it?

If you want, you can remove that part, remove the clip, and place your clip where that part was, and put that part where the clip was. In that new place, it prevents overtravel of the lock bar.

This is what DDR says, just in case for other purchasers..
"The lock stop is for carrying the knife tip up.
It is a lock bar safety."
