Here is my newest. Its a step away from the fancy burls I had been working with, and feels much more "classy" than the other pieces I have done. It has a really nice heft and feels great in the hand. It is ultra sharp. I can shave ink off a single sheet of paper without cutting through. The hamon, gidgee and bolsters are so hard to take pictures of, and I am still working on getting a nice picture so bear with me....The gidgee is like cat's eye...it moves all over the place as the light changes....its almost creepy.
Specs:
8.75" OAL
4.5" Blade
1095 Steel, differentially hardened
Ringed Gidgee
Mosaic pin
Double nickel silver bolsters
Im working on the final finish, playing with satin bolsters or true mirror...
