I've carried a vic pioneer as my keychain for years so i decided id buy an autumn jr. scout that reminded me somewhat of a case my grandpa gave me when i was 3 or 4 (he died when i was 5). i didnt realize i couldnt obtain one for less than 60 bucks let alone 80. is this standard price or am i not shopping around enough?

Have you done a "completed items" search on ebay to see how much they are going for on that venue? I use that advanced search to make sure I do not over bid items. It is not a bad guage on value. Another place is nextag.com If it is currently in production and on shelves of retail or internet stores, it will give you comparable pricing. Hope this helps.
