So I am making four knives from my knives form my dads friends and I am trying out kydex sheaths. I have built a kydex press out of things from home depot, but I have a few questions on the kydex itself. Are there different qualitys of kydex, I know they differ by thickness but is there any other differences. Also What is the best (Monetarily )
option to attach the rivets, I heard that you shouldn't use the hand plier style ones but what are the other options??

Thanks to anyone who can help,

Junior knifemaker,

There are different types and grades, but I don't really know what's what.

Cheapest option on installing eyelets is probably a punch style hand setter. I kinda suck at using them, but others seem to do fine. The guided hand setters (like the Journeyman from KnifeKits) are probably better for a little more money. Dies aren't that much more, but you'll need a press with the right size holes or a sturdy drill press (or a vice, but that'd be slow going).
