Just got the knife in the mail and a bunch of other goodies... I already have an eat'N tool so if it's alright with you I'll pass that onto the next guy when I ship it out. Very generous of you Monkeyz!! Thanks a bunch!!!

Too late to get any good pics, but I'll have some up tomorrow. I'll probably carry it for a few days then post a review if that's alright...

awesome to see the forum generosity keeps getting passed around along with this knife!

On with my review... everything that follows is my humble opinion.

Overall I really liked the knife. After seeing the previous reviews it ended up being exactly the size I had imagined. I enjoyed carrying it in my front pocket and forgot it was there after just a few minutes. It's light and not at all lumpy in the pocket... I couldn't imagine carrying something this small on my belt. I'm a fixed blade fanatic and my usual EDC is the Becker Necker ESEE Ka-bar 1997 handed down to me from my brother after he got back from his 2nd tour.

Here they are for comparison...

PROS

The edge was more than acceptable upon arrival and was shaving sharp. I used the knife for a multitude of tasks to include... opening boxes, cutting string and rope, slicing/eating fruit, cutting coupons, trimming a plastic cover for a fire alarm panel at work, shaving green sticks and making fire sticks out of dry ones.

I found that the section right in front of the blade to be rounded off for the comfort of your thumb or finger to be very thoughtful and it's something that I do with all of the knives that I make... had it been squared off sharply I would've noted it as uncomfortable.

CONS

My hands immediately found sharp points on the handle within the first few minutes. Both points "A" and "B" start to dig into your thumb and/or forefinger as soon as you put any more then the slightest amount of pressure into working the blade. I believe (humble opinion) that this could easily be solved if the scales were either not as wide as they are, or if they were thinned out in the last centimeter or so before they met the back of the blade... either way an easy fix and in NO way a deal breaker.

The only other issue (and it's more of a feeling) that I found was that the handle had these strange changes in width near the back side of the pins....

This was a bit strange to me and I don't know if it was intentional or not... it didn't take away from the functionality of the knife at all, but I felt that my fingers somehow "found" these indentations automatically and it wasn't where I was intending for my grip to originally be when I started whatever task was at hand.

Thank you so much for including me in the Pass-around and I look forward to sending it off the the next user along with some other goodies. Hope you enjoyed the review, I tried to be as thoughtful and honest as I could and I truly enjoyed being part of this... OH and another contractor asked me where I got it so I gave him the info.

Thanks for the great pictures and review Hogworthy!

The faults you mention are mine, I should note, the hot spots I must have simply overlooked and the indention were intentional I was originally going to create a fatter middle to grip, then just used it as contours, obvious did not work out, thanks for pointing them out. I'll not make the mistakes again :)

Nice review, pictures and notes on the knife, hogworthy!

I enjoyed seeing the comparison to your family ESEE as well - thanks!

best

I don't believe the indentations on the handle to be "faults". That's the beauty of a custom made knife. What works for one might seem weird to another, but in the end it's your knife and no one else. I truly enjoyed it. Thanks again for the opportunity...

I appreciate opinions to :)

Hogworthy, you're not set up to receive email or PM's through BF, could you contact me with your email address so I can forward techno's information?

Techno has it, I figured he's been busy like all of us over the holiday season, I'm going to send him a message after the 1st for an update.

Its still for going on. The last guy has it but got caught up in the holidays. We messaged about it. He should be able to get done with it soon now we're in Jan.
