I've said it before, ironwood never ceases to amaze me. Always have to post pics of ironwood handled knives.

Saw this one on Facebook. Ironwood is my favorite handle material. The overall knife looks great, but that ironwood is killer.

Scott that is amazing, ironwood was indeed the right choice. The Bowie tip is exactly what I wanted. Great job. Can't wait to get it. The Tuskers as a whole are my favorite knives.

Congrats to the new owner! Scott, that is some fine work! What specs did you choose?

8 1/2 in blade, of 1/4 in A2, with 1 in choil and of course Ironwood Handles.

Is it me or does that guard make the ironwood
POP ! ...

How durable is ironwood compared to other
Woods like oak,orange osage,purple heart ?

And will it stand up to abuse like micarta ?

Frank

BTW the knife is one good looking blade
As always great job scott !..
&congrats to the ownner !

Frank, if I had to choose one wood based on durability, it would ironwood. Still being a natural material, the possibilty of it moving still exists but it's not as likely as with other woods.
No comparison to micarta. IMO, micarta and G-10 are the best choice for durability.
