Hi there,
5 days ago I got my first Ray Laconico custom knife in the mail so I thought I would share my impressions.
Let me start by saying that it is probably the best overall knife I have held and used.
The best words to describe it are simplicity and perfection.
I love apple products because of how beautiful and functional they are, I own every apple product there is for that reason.
Ray's knives are like apple products they are beautiful because they are simple and it "just works"
Let me get more specific:
The flipping action on my jasmine is a 10/10 "it just goes"
The centering 10/10 dead center
Stonewash 10/10 some of the best I've seen
Engagement/disagengement 10/10 not sticky, accessible...perfect!
Smoothness 10/10 butter, glass, butter on glass...
Detent 10/10 best I've seen period
Edge, steel, grind 9.5/10 knocked it down a bit because I had to knock it down some where...
Communication 10/10 Ray was great, professional, easy to work with, very descriptive of what the knife was.
As you can see I am a big fan. I never write reviews I read them but this time I felt I needed to say something, give credit where credit is due.
Ray thanks so much for such a piece of art and my every day companion.
To everyone else, if you haven't done so already, look at Ray's work and you will be blown away.
