That's definitely a new one on me, but I'm not exactly familiar with a lot of the highly sought after Axes I'll never own so that's no surprise.

Many times it is from conversations and happenstance that i fall into opportunity, trouble but always something.
This was vinegar bathed washed out grey. The gentlemen had contacted me because we had done some horse trading in the recent past and had been having regular conversations back in 2021. He shared a few pictures with me of the axe and i made an affordable offer. We may have bartered or he may have acccepted right away, i dont recall. He does not aquire and sell axes usually and i had been helping him with ID, pricing etc...it may have been luck on my part, timing.

My 1864 J Yerkes belt axe is probably the only " deal " I'll ever get, and that was just a gamble taken on both sides knowing it could be something while expecting that it likely wasn't.
