Kabar short

Hi I am hoping someone has both and can help me out.

Does anyone here know if a kabar short will fit in a Ontario airforce survival knife 499 sheath? Pictures would be awesome.

Well, it sort of fits, but not well. The KB shorty is a little longer than the 499 and bottoms out in the sheath before the guard makes contact. The handle strap is a little loose as well.

Updated to add: I remembered I had one of the older pointed, all-leather sheaths and the shorty fit that one no problem. Same warning about the loose strap though.
