One thing I really like on the Leatherman Surge over the Charge is the shape of the little nail catch (is that what it's call?) that is on the top of the blades that are stored in the handles.
They have a little different shape on the surge and I think they are much easier to catch with your fingernail and pull out of the handle on the Surge then they are on the Charge.
