Change Username Less bloated home page?

I use an iPad for my web surfing and the old site would fit entirely on one screen. This new version requires me to scroll down through every single forum area with all the sub forums listed. Is there a way to compress it so just the forum areas are listed ? I'm not very tech savvy and no I cannot afford a laptop.
 
Same here I'd like it compressed also and the color toned down also would be good....maybe blue like the top of the screen also. Thanks,

Never mind I really need to read more and look around more before posting I guess. Thanks Spark, I like the dark version much appreciated.

Looks like the front page has been fixed, at least for me and the "Flat Awesome + (BETA)" Theme. looks similar to layout as the original forum.
 
The beta dark is looking good for me. The layout for it on the front page is much better.
