I have 6 Lil' Ferox with pre glue-up grinds, and almost ready for handles!


All of my offerings are completed in small batches 100% by me Chris Linton

I would like to remind all of you that I offer a 10% discount for all Veterans, Law Enforcement and First Responders.

Disclaimer-

  • This is an experiment to see if this works out well for you guy's the customer and for me the maker! If all goes well I will open up another custom order list later in the year.

  • I reserve the right to refuse to do business with anyone I choose for any reason I choose.

  • I will do my best to make the knife you desire, however if it does not fit my brand image or I just do not like the material I will not make it! I feel this is the best policy to adopt for the buyer and the maker. I do not want to make something for someone I did not enjoy making or I thought was unappealing to the eye. (Just being upfront and honest)

  • A 25% Non-refundable deposit is required to place a custom order. Paid immediately once I confirm your order via PM, Payments will be made to Ospreyknifeandtool@gmail.com (The deposit will be refunded however if something happens and I am unable to deliver the knife)

  • Once you have claimed a spot please PM me with your full name and email address so I can send a Paypal invoice. Also please include the description of your choices and I will calculate the cost for your total and the amount for your deposit. (If you have a question or are unsure of your selection due to material availability please PM me and we can work it out there instead of munging up the thread)

  • Once the knife is complete and ready to ship the same total of the remaining balance will be due within 48hrs of delivery of the invoice prior to shipment.

  • Orders will be completed tentatively within 4-6 weeks depending on handle material avalibility

  • All Ferox will be 3/16" (.174'') Tapered Tang CPM154

  • A sheath will not be provided at this time.

Guidelines-

  • Everyone who participated in the Lil' Ferox Pass Around last year has first right of refusal on a spot there where 7 of you I only have 6 spots here. I am hoping it works out, if all seven want on I will make an extra.

  • If there are any unclaimed spots by Friday September 14 at 8pm EST. I will unlock the thread and take orders on the remaining spots on a first come first serve basis

  • For this Custom order list I am only taking orders on 6 knives. Limit 1 per person!

  • First come first serve! Please claim a spot like in a normal sales thread

  • No proxies allowed, the person who claims a knife is the person who will pay. What you do with it after you recieve it is your business.

  • Do not edit your post!

  • Please state your option clearly! I.E.- Handle Material, Liner choice, Pinstock and Lanyard tube material

  • Lil Ferox Ferox - Blade - 5 1/4" OAL - 10" - Base Price $350 +$60 for 3 /16” CPM154 Base price total $410
*Tapered tang Included in base price, I will not make these without a tapered tang

You are not restricted to the examples list above, they are just here to give an Idea of what a similar build of comparable material would cost.

If I do not have enough the antique to go around for all 3, will a darker natural canvas micarta be a sufficient alternative? It can be rather difficult to find more in a pinch, but not impossible.
I can find out for sure tomorrow, it may also come down to thickness as well, I can let you now via pm.

I appreciate everyones participation, it has gone really smoothly so far.


Some of you are still deciding on some of the finer details.
I am at the shop this afternoon, going through my material and organizing the custom order list to start beginning on building some of these handle this weekend.

I will try my best to keep everyone up to date on the progress of there build through the second post in this thread with a color coded statuses.
I will also take and up load pictures when I can to this thread so you all can have a visual cue of where your knife is at. I will be working on other things at the same time so there may be a few days to a week in between WIP updates.
You can also get a behinds the scenes look on Instagram as it is easier for me to take Photos/Videos and upload them.

I am going to unlock this thread since I have everyones order locked in already.
You can chat away, ask questions or just hang out and enjoy the updates.
Please feel free to leave me feedback on how you feel the process has worked out on your end so far.
My goal is to improve where I can and to make this as easy and enjoyable for everyone involved.
 
I will be closing my books on these tomorrow at 8pm EST. I will likely not take orders again for these until well into next year.
What ever had not been claimed for a custom order will be completed with a handle of my choice and offered up for sale either here or on my website.

I have updated the Custom work in progress thread, as of right now all of the Lil' Ferox are rough shaped, I plan to have them finished up the week after next and ready to ship out by the end of the month.

I will post completed pictures here.
 
So I realize that these are purpose-built fighters, but I can’t help but think the Lil’ Ferox is going to be an awesome all-around hiking/hunting/outdoors knife as well... maybe most excited for this of my 3 custom orders.

Starting on finishing up the Lil Ferox starting tomorrow and plan on having the finished up next weekend and shipped out the last week in October. Work in progress pics will continue on the same thread.
 
Lil Ferox are complete, I am uploading pictures to fotki, I will have them posted shortly. I will have them in the mail tomorrow! I appreciate everyone who participated. I will be catching up on the forums and emails. The rest of the week and in to next week.
 
T Twisted Forest Some how I forgot to take a picture of one side, I think what happend as I was flipping the knife trying to get good lighting and got myself confused as to what I took and didnt I will get the otherside photgraphed for you this afternnon.
