Looking for first hand BK10 experience.

A couple of weeks late to the post, but I must say I love my BK10.
Becker large handles fit my hand perfectly, and the 10 is a great all around knife. Not too long, and not too thick. I did find that the thumb ramp was a bit of annoyance, so I eventually went ahead and took it off, and added a sharp spine where it was. Since then it has been my go-to for a full sized Becker.

After a fresh stropping:

A bit of feathersticking on some fatwood:

After slicing about 20 pounds of chickens into nuggets:

Awesome! Thank you for posting. The BK10 is an excellent general use budget friendly knife.

I could see That as almost the perfect Becker.

I've chased around, and have had some, but I don't have a 10

OK...that last pic is what I call as others did a perfect Becker. Since the blade is bigger with more material to many jobs with, and thin enough to slicery things better than a BK2. I'd say that handle size is justified for a 5 inchish long knife. No thumb ramp makes it easier to use I bet. My experience with my BK2/72 gives me an idea how that no thumbramp BK 10 feels when its doing things that needed doings to be done with. Thumb Ramp for what the BK 10 was designed for of getting out of an aircraft is nice for extra literal push to cut the air frame, but for use as a field blade it would get in the way. Well on my BK9 it seems to for me.

Oh and don't cook and eat the BK 10 with the rest of that meat as its iron content might be a bit high and the Micarta Handle might have resins toxic to humans even if cooked well done.

The BK10 is the only knife in this picture that I can't seem to appreciate...
I'm a big fan of the blade length; so, for a long time, I thought it was an issue of the height at that length ? There isn't that much difference between the 10 & "12", though; which helped me realize that the short clip on the tall blade is what I don't like. View attachment 2441813
The wood scales are a relatively new addition to the BK7. I seem to recall looking for TtW in Osage Orange a while back - but I'm not sure if that's what those are...if not, they're an extra pair that I found sitting in my Box-o-Beckers. (If I'm being honest, I don't even remember putting them on, lol)

A couple more "slicery" shots:

Now were those cuts right to left or left to right or down to up or up do town or off 90 degrees on compass cardinal points? 🤓

I do agree that a longer clip on the 10 would look better.
Not a very hard mod to do. Hmm.

It's like a BK9 that's easier to have on your belt or chest rig or a lighter more nimble BK2; the thumb ramp doesn't bother me. It is a useful feature if you were trying to thrust/stap through, say an aluminum fuselage to extricate yourself from a bent aircraft.

True.

Tho they won't let me carry a BK10 in the cabin.
