This is our Mazak FH 6000 where I work,
it has a tool carousel track with around 130 tool holders ( can't recall the exact #)
This is a highly productive and accurate machine and very reliable.
Well worth the $500K it cost when we bought it in 2004.
It has a foundation of concrete 3 feet deep all around.
It also has a tombstone pallet changer.

Mazak did a very nice job with this machine
Today was schedule cleanup on it and I took the opportunity to take a few quick videos
hope you like

Nice, our largest horizontal is a Hyundai wia kh1000. Dual tombstones.

I'm the programmer for my company, but I also run machines amongst other things.

how are the Korean machines for overall performance?
except for a Hardinge vertical lathe (USA made) I haven't seen anything better than what comes out of Japan.

I haven't programmed in awhile, it would take my 3 times as long to get usable program out to the shop floor
Been about 15 years since I was a useful programmer.

I like the 1000, I just wish my company hadn't of been so cheap when they purchased it. There are upgrades that would make life so much easier for the operator that are optional, that we didn't get.

We have 3 Hyundai horizontal machines all are great machines, they can hold tolerances pretty well, although for what we usually machine, we don't take tolerances down to the tenths. I would like a little more Z depth out of the horizontals, that's about my only complaint.

We have 5 other vertical machines as well.

I hear the Swiss machines are the cats meow, but they cost big $.

I'm a big fan of dynamic toolpaths, I've been using them in our shop and love them.

A friend of mine who is also a programmer tells me good things about mazaks. I'd like to check one out when I get the opportunity.
