Anyone know what steel is used in the MC-1
snap blade knife? It was made by Camillus,
nsn:5110-00-526-8740, CAGE code-p/n 81349-MIL-K-25594.Any info would be cool. Thanx in advance, PR

PR,
The MC-1 Parachute Knife uses 440A for both the blade & the shroud cutting hook.

I also have an MC-1 made by Shrade. Both need replacment blades. Can the blades, and the rivet that will be history, be purchased?

Ghostsix,
Unfortunately we cannot sell parts for contract knives. Equally sad it is illegal for you to ship the knife to me, or for me to return ship it to you!
Sad but true!

ghostsix,
I might be able to help. Email me and I could help you find spare parts.

Thanks for all of the kind offers and advice.I took the advice that it would be more troubke than it`s worth.I talked with the local Post Commander and, he gave me a Shrade and Camillus for my collection.I`ll leave the restoration of the old ones to a kid to whom the experiance is worth the time.
