I didn't like the feel/look of the beadblasted handles on my Kershaw Shallot, so I decided to spray paint them. First I took the knife apart (was familiar with the shallot's construction) and cleaned the 2 handle slabs and pocket clip in hot soapy water. Once they dried I sanded them down with some coarse grit sandpaper and then went over them again with some fine grit. After I was done sanding I took some Interior/Exterior flat black spray paint (it was $3) and painted the handles. While the paint was drying I decided to polish up the clip instead of painting it. I think it turned out great, but I'm wondering if the paint will hold up. Still need to get the blade re-profiled, but other than that I like it.
Here are some pics, sorry about the quality I don't have a camera so I used my phone.
After painting, before reassembly.
Assembled.
