Guys,
Having some rust issues. My head came loose on my rainier, again. So, I put it in the sink to tighten it back up. It worked of course, but.... my formerly pristine condition hawk is now streaked with deeply imbedded rust, in all of those nice nooks and crannies. So far, I tried to use spot sanding pens, feathering tools, fiberglass rods, wd-40 and steel wool. Nothing removes the rust. All I have done is remove all the nice finish from the hawk. At this point, I will try anything, as the appearance is already shot. Any ideas?

Could send it to me :D

I would fine sand blast the whole head mask the edge then with a sponge rub it with some gun cold blue oil well then rub with a good wax

Rooikat,

Send it to me and I'll remove the rust...it's normal and common on our hand-forged pieces when wet. When clean, we'll coat it in an inhibitor and provide the brand so you can keep some around the house.

Get with me offline bud.
