Ok so i researched it like crazy and it seems the fastest and possibly easiest way to sharpen a knife is with a 1-30" belt sander. So i picked up a sander from harbor freight localy for /$35.00 and some belts from lee valley and i grabbed an old machete from my dads garage that looks like it never ever had an edge to begin with and i went to town with the knowledge i have gained here and other places. Here are the results please feel free to comment on anything you notice . I know i have a ways to go before i can sharpen like some of you. Help me get there Thanks

Also i sharpened it all the way to 10 microns but i did not use the leather belt with compound just because i didnt need this machete to be rezor sharp.

So what do you guys think?

It looks like it is nicely polished from the pics. The fact that you are humble and willing to listen and learn will take you very far. Great job!

Thanks for the posetive comments guys. I will try to get some pics of it in use.
Now I'm working on making a sheath .
