My secretary came in the other day with these and wanted to know if I could help her with identifying, and getting a value on them. They have been in her family for a while. I know they are the greatest pictures, but I can take more of needed.

I looked for the makers, I found Solingen was one of them. I believe they are from the WW II era.

Thanks for looking.

First one is a Weyersberg Kirschbaum Cutacha - https://therionarms.com/articles/cutacha/index.html . Basically, it's a fancy saber type dress machete. That style was popular last quarter of the 1800's - first quarter or so of 1900's, through Latin America and the Carribean, especially Cuba. Handle type is usually called "Ball and Claw" or "Eagle Claw and Globe" by collectors. Value is usually in the $250-400 range in nice shape with scabbard.

Second is some type of Japanese "Type 32" saber, but I don't know my way around them to be much help.

Whoops, your third is actually the "Type 32" saber. The second I can't place other than it looks German, perhaps a private purchase variety of 1889 saber. They did so much exporting of similar patterns, that it might be hard to nail down.

The middle sword may be an m1850 US foot officer sword but it would help to offer more detail of the blade etch and any marks found. These were modeled after the French 1845 infantry officer sword. This does not appear to be a French sword. The m1850 was a sword common during the American Civil War. Depending on a few factors, it may fetch a grand.

Cheers

The length of the Japanese sword will determine if it was the earlier cavalry sword or the later shorter nco.

The value is going up. $400--->
