I'm pretty sure Al Mar makes the nice version of this. It is called the Al Mar escape tool.

Had an identical tool with no name as a kid and it was crap. Furthermore I've had some Chinese maxam knives which were all garbage flea market specials so having their name on it is even worse.

I don't care what kind of controversy this may bring, but ( using Leatherman as the standard for good ) good Chinese multitools are a myth

I have an identical one but from years not sure of the brand of there is one. It's my backup MT for fishing because I don't care if i lose it or if it rusts. My primary fishing MT is a Gerber diesel 600. Because I like to flick open pliers when in a kayak with a big catfish flopping around. Also because if I lose it I won't care. My vote is fair.

Well, it's a copy alrite...

Recommended only to those on the cheap.
Works as any tool in its price range
Also makes an impressive Christmas stocking surprise.
But don't expect any long term returns both in utility or lasting friendship.
Oh, and btw, it's made with some fairly soft material to say the least.
To be absolutely fair, one can only hope that the manufacturer
Of this long discontinued sog Clone
Had reversed engineered a product improved version
And guaranteed the working potential of this tool
Good enough for the life and death situation segment
of the lower end of the multitool market.
Now, if only anyone would be willing to
Stake his/her life on it...
