Every time I visit Scott at his shop, I feel like a kid in a candy store. I think I've seen every Leatherman multi-tool ever made in there, and he always has something new, well, new to me. Today was no exception. I had brought along my small Hackman Tapio Wirkalla (thanks again Scott). I had been using it for pocket carry, and was looking for alternative ideas. Why not neck carry. Scott showed me a Nordic style sheath he had made for neck carry. I am going to bring my UNK back to Scott to get a sheath like this for it, but I think any of his small knives would do great in one of these (PSK for example).

The knife is a UNK.

That is just straight up awesome...damn. I know exactly what you mean Silenthunter. Ugh, yet another thing from his shop I want, lol.

Very nice! reminds me of a skookum sheath :D
Yes, very much like the sheath for a Skookum. I liked this design and thought I'd try my hand at one. It's basically a foldover pouch sheath that is soaked with water then you take the seam and push flat so the seam runs down the center. It takes a couple of days to dry.

I picked up the neck sheath for my UNK last evening. Scott did a great job on it. Comfortable also, both for neck carry and pocket carry (more so than using a sheath with a belt loop for either purpose ). From now on, any small knives that I get that could be used as neck knives, I'm going to see if Scott can make one of these style sheaths for it.

Thanks again man.

Love Scott's sheathmaking. I think I have 4 or 5 sheaths he's made me and they are among my favorites. Love that one Silent and Scott!

Those pics are actually of Scotts knife and sheath taken outside his shop. My UNK is about the same, just thicker, darker natural micarta now.

The whole set up is great for pocket carry.

I wore this sheath over the long weekend (well, long for me anyway), and last night. Very comfortable neck carry, or in the pocket.

BTW, my UNK is 440C (thanks for touching it up too Scott).

I also have this type of sheath for my other UNK in S90V. I just finished making a similar pocket sheath for my Polaris and 6" sharpening steel. It carries pretty comfortable in the left front pocket of my Wrangler jeans. The handle sticks out but doesn't get in the way.
