I have a question for the M9 enthusiasts: what was the period range when Ontario made the M9 with the Buck-style handle? I can't find any info on that and it's driving me nuts.

This image is taken from Ontario's website. They've been making them with this type of handle since at least 2005 if I am not mistaken.

This image is also taken from Ontario's website but it misleadingly shows the M9 with the Buck-style handle in bayonet sale ad.

Also found this12 years old video of it, but that doesn't tell me much about the production date.

Any info, please?

Found this comment while digging through Reddit. The Buck-style one does have the hyphen in the name.

And while digging further using the "first contract" keyword, I came across this 2006 document talking about the two Army contracts, handle/grip and the hyphen use in the name: https://mocityman.com/content/M9Resources/OntarioM9Article2006.pdf

So, based on my understanding of the document is that the M"-"9 is a pre late 2005, first contract, first gen. knife.

The round handles were used from 2000-2005,(lime green colour)
Same time frame for the hyphen on the blade markings.
Post '05 has no hyphen and ergo handles.
