I have an opportunity to purchase a Benchmade 943 but all the talk of counterfeits has me spooked. Does this knife appear to be a real 943? The blade coating is worn but I want it to carry anyway, so that is not an issue. But I would like to know I have a real BM 943 in case I decide to send it in for sharpening, to have the blade replaced, etc.. Any help is much appreciate. Thanks.

Send it in for authentication. In the future Buy from reputable sellers and you'll never be spooked, there are three knife selling giants. Buy from any one of them

Considering the 943 has been discontinued for some time you won't find these at a big box retailer.

J Jim56 - Welcome to blade forums . That knife Looks pretty legitimate to me. I’m no expert on Benchmade knives, but, the logos on both sides of the blade look real, the edge looks original, the hardware looks real, the clip is real. Sharpen it up and use it until it can’t be used.

it looks real to me, i wouldn’t stress about it. if you’d like tho there’s a sticky thread in the benchmade section for possible fakes
