We had a thread a while back where people posted knives they had customized or had someone customize. I thought it was interesting to see what all people had done so I figured it was time to start one up again.

Show what you've done - good or bad (I know just about everyone's done something!)

I've been meaning to do my MOD CQD MKII for a while now and I finally had some time to do it.

I removed the skate board tape and replaced it with Red Micarta inserts.

I'm still not sold on the color so I may go with something else later...
when I have more time ;)

If you have pictures but can't post, e-mail them to me and I'll put them up.

Man, I love what you did to that MOD!

I had a swamp rat standard CT ground up with a Mojo appearance, more than one actually.

Good thread!

Lokks good nice job of fitting the Micarta, you do it yourself cpirtle?, I like the idea of this thread. Now I have to go do something to a knife so I can post a pic.

You may still know my CRKT M16 Olive and the Ka-Bar hunter,

(At the moment i`m waiting for my CRKT CKFF to come back,
with damaskus blade, ti and ivory......)

Thanks guys, yep did the work myself.

Gundy - cool MOD on the SRKW, who did the work? Looks like a great cutter!

Bigbore - Very cool job on the Ryan Plan B and that's the perfect knife to do it on.

Here's another one I did a while ago:

Like a fool I sold it.

Anyone considering doing one, it's a fairly easy project. The only tricky part is putting a rather precision hole/counterbore in the handle slabs to fit the Striders unique pivot pin.

Oh Neil, you tease!

Why do you tempt me so? :p

Great job everyone, nice custom work!

It is amazing how much Neil changed the feel of that knife...it feels so nice in the hand . Great work sir !

WOW! Nice Ar Neil!!!

CPirtle, man, those scale replacements look great! I am thinking stag as an option too! Tactical meets old school...yeah baby!

A local knifemaker (Peter Jensen) ground the rat. Kept the recurve within the hardened zone.

I love these type of threads!

I posted a question like this in the reviews forum. I guess this was the right place. Has anyone done work on a Spydie, by drilling out the pins and replacing them?

Dan

cpirtle,

I really like the contrast of the red micarta on the black. I think you did a good thing to that knife. Nice work.

Does taking the blackticle finish off of my CS Recon Scout count?
:D

Thanks again guys, keep them rolling in!

Ebbtide, yep it counts - awesome finish job, handrubbing is a bitch :)

lesoleilnoir, I'm not sure what anyone else has done with a Spydie but I did this Police. Reprofiled the handle a bit :)

The AR Neil tricked out has to be felt and seen to be appreciated.
Totally trick . I feel the need for a tricked out AR .

I bought this Spyderco Rescue customized, but I intend to make a spare to go with it. I really like this knife a lot.
