Here's a heavy duty Tanto I just finished up in 5160 steel and black rayskin. It has a full flat chisel grind with a convex tip and microbevel. This grind slices very well and the tip is very strong and sharp. The finish is a belt finish with a polished tip and bevel. For the handle I used premium black rayskin and wrapped it with black cord in a traditional style. The wrap has been soaked with West System epoxy for a durable and comfortable handle. The sheath is made of .060 Kydex and is very sturdy and lightweight, it is teklok compatible and the knife clicks in well. You can also use it is a pocket or necker sheath. This one has a handle a little over 4" long, big enough for a large hand yet still suitable for in palm carry. I did all the work myself in my shop including the heat treat which was done with my digitally controlled kiln.
