On the 75th Anniversary Astro. The RMK stamp is oriented differently. Has RMK done this before? Or is this a first? B4400712-9716-4E49-A483-B0D15BEFDE99.jpeg

Interesting -- on the anniversary knife, there is no "S" stamp for stainless steel.
(There is an "S" stamp on my Nordic Special.)

The Tom Clinton Special also has the stamp like the Astro, however it is read with the blade pointing down.
The Nordic and Astro are read tip up.
The TC's and Nordic Bowies have a lot of space on the ricasso for the stamp due to the width of the blade, the astro, not so much.

The exclusion of the "S" on the Astro may be just because of space constraints.
RMK thought it may be too tight a fit having the logo with "S",so left it out.

.
The ricasso on my Astro is 1-3/32 inch wide, but on my Nordic it's only 1 inch wide.

Just got this reply from Jason Randall:-
"The blades are forged and shaped a little larger than normal on the Anniversary Knife.
The choil area would have to be even larger to accommodate the wider "S" stamp.
It was much easier to line this particular stamp up and still look proportionate."
