TiSpine Lock Durability

I've got an SR-2A on the way, the TRE on my wannit list, and now I've decided I want a TiSpine.

My I only concern with that model is that there is no steel lockbar insert, and I don't know if the face of the lockbar is carbidized. So...

1. Is the lockbar face carbidized? If not, is this a problem?
2. Any long-term experience with the use of the TiSpine lock? Does it wear-in OK?
3. If the lockface is not carbidized, should I consider sending it off to someone to have it carbidized? (Not even sure if this is possible.)

This issue may not even be an "issue"-I don't know. Seems to me that this is more a gent's folder than a hard use knife, though it seems pretty stout. And doubting that I am going to be flicking this thing open and closed endlessly like my ZT 450 I can't imagine I'd be using it enough to reach the point where I'd have issues with the lock. But being a not inexpensive knife, I'd like to know from those who've had the TiSpine for some time if the lack of a steel insert or lack of carbidization has posed a problem.

Thanks!

Hi! I own the Tispine since some months now and carry it regularly in my rotation. I have zero issues with its lock. No stickiness, very stout and reliable . Like you say, it’s still a gents folder, in the woods it does its job but it’s not the one I carry if my plan is to process wood for hours :D. The TRE is also a very good knife, the only real downside, for me, is its “lazy” flipper.

My looong versions here:

Good pick with the Tispine ! I like it a lot still. A keeper for me :).
