To the OP: Too cool! As one who lives about as far from an ocean as is possible in North America, that's some pretty neat stuff.

For a whale attack knife: I'd go for a Spyderco Salt series knife, your choice as to which one. Don't want it rusted shut when the whale comes to get ya!
