i took my rr spike hawk on a camping trip this week which was good. it was almost dark when we started to set up camp so i said i would gather wood for the fire while my friend set up the tent. i got a small fire going and decided it was time for some thicker stuff and thats when it happened. i started chopping into this thick branch and a few hits later WHAM i had gone through the branch and hit a rock i didn't see that was covered by leaves and mud. i really hit it hard too but much to my surpise it only rolled the edge over and flattened it a bit. still chopped just fine until i could resharpen it.

it's easy to see how atc offers a life time guarantee on their heads after this. a lesser product would of chipped the steel out which would of required more than field sharpeners to repair. i'm going to start taking this hawk on my trips instead of my usual busse bm-e as i'm sold on its performance. awesome product :)

Good steel, with good heat treatment...That's an ATC 'Hawk.:).
