Will a kydex sheath scratch the dlc blade coating on the zt 0350?
I'm making a kydex sheath for it, and I was gonna make it with the knife flipped open like a fixed blade, but I wasn't sure if it would scratch the blade coating.... or leave marks on it.

It all depends on what gets inside the kydex. Its not the kydex itself that scratches the steel its grit that gets between the kydex and the blade. If you get sand in there, then I would say YES. The thing to do is to rinse kydex sheaths out with water regularly to flush out grit etc.

Definitely would like to see some pictures of that setup when you're done.

Typically when I chose kydex, I put myself into a frame of mind that I am going to use the knife so scratches become a given.

i don't get why people go to all the trouble of buying an expensive knife, get a custom made sheath for it, then worry about scratching the blade. If you use a knife it will get scratched, period. It's meant to be used.
