This week is going to be a massive glue-up week. We'll see how many I can get done. Then I'll go one batch at a time to finish them out. Starting with the Survivors.

Wish me luck!!!

Crazy part is .....this is about half of what I've got laid out.....

I still have about 20 bushcraft knives to finish, 3V Nessmuks, 3V Monster Nessies, 5160 Monster Nessies, a couple new prototypes I'm testing out....and a collaboration short run.....whew!

Great stuff Dan:thumbup:
I love those Elite's......can't wait to see mine.:)

At this rate you're going to need a helper, that's a very respectable workload you've got in front of you.

Love these threads Dan.

Hey Dan?

I was looking at your fishing knife thread and they were flat grind.

Looks like those are scandi??

Which are they going to be??

flat ground - it's not good to take off too much steel before heat-treat with thinner blades. Also helps keep the flat/straight during quench. So, the trade off is more grinding after heat-treat...but it's actually better because then it doesn't grind away so easily.

Dan

OK.

I don't fish but the idea of a blade of that length and thiness with a scandi grind sort of appealed to me;)

I did make one with a scandi grind in 1095 - you can see it in the pics above. It's in the 3rd to last one - but you can't tell what it is...it's the one standing up on the back right corner - but you can see the scandi grind with a little imagination. :D

I'll snap a pic before it goes out.

I will post more pics today or Wednesday.

No JRE BushMaster sheaths yet....:(

Dan

Prototype in 1095 made for a local teenage kid interested in knives and knifemaking.

And based on that one I've decided these handles really need the 3/8" thick G10.

Guess what gets glued-up today!

;)

Dan

I'm about 2/3rds the way through gluing up everything shown above - and about halfway finished with the ones I've glued-up already. Just FYI for those interested.

I'll be out of town Thurs-Sat this week.

Will jump back on 'em on Monday.
