Zt560 weekend project

Well I decided I needed to spruce up my user zt560 that I just received back from service for a reblade. I acid washed the blade then stone washed it and here are the results. Oh I also did the clip. Cleaned everything up resharpened it and slapped the kryptoglow glow scale back on it and its like a completely new knife.

Very nice, looks good with the blue scale. Was it a sterile blade?

Yep blade was naked BC It was a replacement blade not a warranty replacement I paid for it.

Did you resharpen the blade after the Stone bath?
The blade looks AWESOME

Did you just call them and ask to buy a replacement blade? How much?

Yes I did have to resharpen it but the acid did a number on the edge before the rocks beat it up.

If u print off KAI warranty sheet there is a place to put in your CC info and in description just put blade replacement. The zt blades cost $30 but u have to send a complete un modified knife in and they replace the blade and tune the lock. I don't know off the top of my head what a kershaw costs for replacement I k ow it is less than $30

How long did you leave it in the acid bath and what type of media did you use for the stone wash? Nice work, by the way! +1

It took 4 dips in the acid for 3 mins each trip. I used a handful of gravel from my driveway as the media a mixed size limestone gravel from pea size to 1in pieces.

I wish they would sell just a blade but they won't ship you out just a blade u have to send the knife in for them to get a new blade

That's awesome! I never knew that ZT offered that service. Do they return the original blade to you?
