Jester that's a nice knife, I really like your handrubbed finish. Care to describe your method of producing the handle material?

Dave

Very nice, Jester! I would be interested in hearing about your home-made laminate, also. The results are beautiful, great colors!:)

Very nice. The blade, handle and overall package is great. I've made some Micarta but it wasn't as nice as yours. I'd also like to know your process.

That's pretty! I've become a sucker for drop points and you really nailed that one.

I'd love to see a pic of your spine file work. Any possibilities of that?

Great idea on the laminated micarta. Very nice!

Thanks for sharing.

Roger

Thanks for your kind words. I am happy others also like my designs. :)

Here you can see the filework.
Nothing special, just something to give the thumb some hold.

I made the micarta with colored paper. I dont know the english name for it. Its available in handicraft shops in many different colors.
I dropped the sheets of paper into epoxy (has to be very fluid) and let it soak for 20 minutes. After that i pressed it between two boards. You have to put some plastic foil between the board and the micarta, otherwise it sticks all together.
I press it with some dumbbell weights.

Its a little messy, but i am really tired of the usual black micarta.
With this method you can produce almost any color and pattern.

Great! Thanks for the pic of the filework. Really good shot of it.

I thinkst you sell yourself a bit short. It looks very good to me and I've picked up some ideas from you.

Roger
