15200 Altitude

Dear Benchmade, I have a few suggestions. Make an uncoated version in s30v, (3v???) replace the carbon fiber with g10 and keep the price around $100-$120 MSRP. Profit. You guys have a winner here but I'm afraid a lot of people will miss out due to the price.
Nah, they have plenty of S30v knives. This model is something special for people looking for the ultimate combination in weight and cutting endurance.
This is a premium Backcountry Hunter blade for guys that hike in 10-20 miles
Guys that can't afford the weight of bringing tons of knives in the field yet also want something more substantial and premium then the havalon replacement razor knives.

So the s90v and the carbon fiber are crucial to the design. It would not be the same knife without them.

There are plenty of other lower cost s30v knives in Benchmades lineup to fill that need.
This knife is something special

I back country hunt and this is the knife I carry. We quartered three elk this year with two of these knives and they never really got dull, still fully usable. A few passes on the work sharp field sharpener and we were back to popping hairs.

In our testing on the CATRA this blade held and edge equivalent to 8 of the larger Havlon blades. It has the best edge retention of any knife we have ever tested!

I bought my father in law a Proper and my brother in law a Bugout for Christmas. I had never held a Bugout prior to today but I like it. It is basically a folding Altitude in s30v. The weight, blade shape/size and overall dimensions are almost identical to the Altitude. Now I'm considering getting myself the od green Bugout. Also...credit owned where credit is due, thanks for taking care of my sheath issue Jimmy. Even if you guys didn't make fantastic knives I would still buy Benchmades based on the customer service alone, luckily we get to have both.

I got bored/curious and wanted to see what's going on under those scales. I think I'm going to run this without the scales for awhile, the jimping provides adequate traction but I still might use some Paracord. This little guy blurs the lines between the Hunt Series and the Black Class in my opinion. I love this little knife so much I bought two.
