I tried to find the answer by searching the threads, but I had no luck. I can understand why the diver comes in stainless only, but is there a reason for why the special fighter is a Stainless only knife? Not that there is anything wrong with that, but curious if there is some back story to Randall’s decision.

I have one exactly like yours but black micarta with nickel silver guard. It’s a super nice knife. The handle just locks into my hand. I’ve wondered not only about the steel but the lack of options in general. There isn’t even a blade length choice.

It’s based on the standard dive knife is the only reason I’ve come up with.

It’s almost like a dealer exclusive. It is what it is. You either like it the way it is or buy something else.

It is somewhat of a bargain. If you option out a model 1 to mimick a sp1. You end up at a higher price point.

I just wish it came with a pommel. Or extended tang like a Buxton fighter.
