1993 Victorinox Soldier knife

I have what I believe to be an alox Soldier model from 1993. There is a 93 on the main blade. There is no ring on this model. However there is a tiny lanyard hole. Sorry no pics since I'm away at work. What went in that hole originally? It looks like it was designed for a loop or something like it. If so where can I get one? The hole is way to small for a useful lanyard. Thanks

Victorinox models switched from hollow rivet to solid rivet in 1993, so your Soldier is the "end of an era" Wenger, on the other hand, had been using bail/shackle inserted into the hollow rivet all the way until their "Standard Issue" model was discontinued last year. You can model a home-made bail or check in the "Wanted" section to see if anyone would mail you one they are not using. A word of caution - it is very easy to snap the blade on the bail and nick it, so a thin nylon loop might be a better solution.
